The Senior Manager, Corporate Business Development will partner with senior leadership to drive strategic business development initiatives across the Firm's premier Corporate practice, overseeing pitches, competitive intelligence, client targeting, team leadership, and business development operations that support some of the world's most sophisticated transactions.
Responsibilities for Senior Manager, Corporate Business Development:
- Lead the development, review, and execution of high-profile pitches, RFPs, and business development materials while ensuring exceptional quality and timely delivery.
- Oversee competitive intelligence, client research, market analysis, and business development alerts to identify growth opportunities and support strategic client initiatives.
- Manage and mentor Corporate Business Development Coordinators and Analysts, overseeing workflow, quality control, performance management, training, and professional development.
- Maintain and enhance business development content, pitch templates, matter descriptions, league table submissions, and CRM databases to ensure accurate, compelling marketing materials.
- Partner closely with Corporate leadership, attorneys, and cross-functional teams on lateral integration, new practice development, client initiatives, sponsorships, and strategic projects.
- Drive process improvements, operational efficiencies, and department best practices while collaborating with IT, Creative Services, and Knowledge Management teams.
- Support reporting, analytics, and other strategic business development initiatives that strengthen client relationships and the Firm's market position.
Qualifications for Senior Manager, Corporate Business Development:
- Bachelor's degree required, preferably in Business, Finance, Marketing, or a related field.
- 8+ years of business development or marketing experience within a law firm or professional services environment
- Strong knowledge of Corporate practice areas, including M&A, Private Equity, Capital Markets, Banking & Finance, Venture Capital, Financial Restructuring, and Shareholder Activism.
- Proven leadership, project management, and team development skills with the ability to manage multiple high-priority initiatives in a fast-paced environment.
- Exceptional writing, communication, analytical, and strategic thinking skills with experience interacting directly with attorneys and senior leadership.
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office; experience with Foundation, InterAction, PitchBook, Bloomberg, Capital IQ, Mergermarket, LSEG, DealPointData, Octus, and iManage is highly preferred.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage complex data, deliver high-quality work under tight deadlines, and collaborate across multiple departments.
